DS-230 question

When the DS-230 Part I and Part II is mailed to NVC, should it also accompany the original CIVIL documents. (Birth cert, Police cert etc.)
There is no paper instructions anymore from NVC so it is little confusing as to what to send and what not to send.
I also learnt that DS-2001 no longer exists (that was used as an indication of your readiness with the documents before the interview.).
With the new scheme I am not sure if the documents be sent to NVC or not.

Could some one let me know that have recently mailed DS-230 for their parent?

Original copies of all civil documents have to accompany the DS-230 form.

I was thinking the same and have not send the Ds-230 yet as the document collection is in process.
In the meantime I read otherwise and got confused.
