Greencard getting expired while outside USA

Hi,

My grandmother has a Greencard and she is in India right now. Her green card is getting expired in April 2011. She went to India in Sep 2010 so in order to continue her residency she should be here by Aug 2011. Now before Aug 2011 her status is getting expired. So what should we do to renew her GC so that she won't have difficulty when she comes in US after April 2011?
