  • Sponsorship for sbiling question - I -130

    Friends,

Can someone point me the requirements for filing GC for my brother. I got my citizenship few year back and want to sponsor my brother.

    I Know I need to file I-130.
I need my birth certificate and my sibling birth certificate to prove that our parents were same.

Is there anything else I need to know for filing?

Also, if birth certificate were made in a foreign language, do I need to english translation of that typed and then stamp by a public notery?

    Please help.

    Many thanks,
    semi

I-130 plus the proof of relationship is all you need. Anyone can do the translation provided they have to swear that they are proficient in both the languages. Its taking around 10 to 11 years now.
    Good Luck!

      Hi daru786 / friends,

Thank you for your reply. Can you please tell if I need to take english translation of that Birth certificate to notary to get it certified since my birth certificate in foreign language and then submit both (foreign language / english translation with notary stamp) along with the I-130 ?

      Many thanks,

You don't need a notary public nor need it to get certified. If any of your friends can read and speak your language then they can translate it. If you really want to get it translated by a notary, you have to make sure that the notary speaks and can read your language. If its hindi or urdu, I can do it for you.
