Should we have a job to apply for I-130 for a parent?

Can someone advice me as to whether I need to have a job to sponsor my mom for GC? Do I need to show any proof of income while filing I-130? Do I need to have my husband (son-in-law) to be included in the filing process as he is the only earning member of the family? If so, how can I do that for this? Thanks.

Your husband will need to provide the financial sponsorship for you to be able to do this.

After reading through the instructions in the form I-130 I noticed that there is no sponsorship document requirement is specified. Does this come later on in form I-485 or do we have to provide financial support document even if it is not explicitly specified in the I-130 instructions? Thanks.

That's right.

It is at the time of I-485.

However, as you are sponsoring your mother, you are U.S. citizen and she comes in the immediate category. Therefore, most people send everything together, I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131, I-864 etc.
