Immigrant Father of US Born Child

Hi , could anybody point me in the right direction in obtaining information of the rights of an immigrant parent that has a US born child with a US citizen?

More specifically the rights of an immigrant father to a US born child , that was married to a US citizen but got divorced before the two-year limitation expired, but did marry in good faith, it just didn't work out...

Any information or orientation towards the subject would be greatly appreciated.
