  • Got married after I-130 got approved

    Hi,

My sister who is a US Citizen applied for me in Dec 2008 and my I-130 got approved in 2009. I am over 21.

I got married few months back. How do I add my wife to the application? Will she get the GC at the same time as I will?

    Please help.

    Thanks.

Write NVC about your marriage and enclose your marriage contract. Your wife's name will then be included in the documents you will receive when your case is about to be current.

You DO NOT need to do anything. Once your Priority Date is current, you can inform USCIS (if you are in US) or NVC if you are in another country about your marriage. She will receive the GC same time as you. Your kids will be eligible if you have any by that time. Hang tight, it about a 10 to 12 years ride.............
      Thanks

So no forms to be submitted right now? Only send a letter to NVC and inform?

No supporting documents like marriage certificate, childs birth certificate, passport copies etc

        Thanks.

Memon Bhai - Sit tight and relax. Inform them when your PD is current and you apply for your GC......
