Name wrong on DOB

Hi,

I need to file GC for my brother, but mother last name on DOB certificate is wrong and will be difficult to correct it now. His passport which has correct Mother name and father name.

1. Can that be use instead of DOB.
2. Can I use both DOB cert and passport has proof of relationship, and also submit affidavit from mother stating that the wrong name on DOB cert is her's only.

If I understand your mother is in US. Whose Birth certificate is wrong ?
Your brother should get it corrected thru Muncipal corp. They have those options now. If its difficult to get correction then get a afidavit and it shud be ok.
