Hello Everyone,
I will try to be brief. I am LPR, but I am just about to become USC because my application was approved and my oath ceremony is in August 18, 2011.
I filed I-130 last year and it was approved. The case was transferred to NVC. After submitting all the papers, our case was completed. But because of the retrogression, our case is now pending.
In the meantime, my wife and I got our baby. As a matter of fact our baby was born after I-130 was approved. I e-mailed NVC to ask what steps I was to make. They responded that I had to send them the copy of the birth certificate of the baby so they could add our daughter to my wife's application.
I read on the various forums and found out that after I become USC, my baby cannot be a derivative beneficiary, and I have to file a separate I-130 for her. Instead of waiting to become USC, I just filed I-130 for my daughter last week. Today, I got an e-mail from USCIS that they received my application and they assigned the receipt number with a priority date.
And just a minute ago, I checked my e-mail. I got an e-mail from NVC in which they send me an invoice for visa fee.
I am totally confused now. What should I do? Should I pay the invoice??? And if I pay the invoice, what's going to happen when I become USC??? Will I have to pay another invoice bill???
Please, those who have knowledge about this or similar issue, respond. I want to hear your suggestions before I follow up with paying or not paying the invoice. I really appreciate your help.
