Upgrade Petition from PR to Citizen

My parents filed petition (I-130) in May 1999 as a green card holder when I was over 21 and unmarried at the time. The petition is approved in 2000. I didn't know I should stay as single until I get greencard, I got married in 2000. My parents got citizenship in 2004. can we upgrade the case from greencard to citizenship even though I got married?

You cannot retain the old priority date since you got married BEFORE your petitioner became a USC. A new petition has to be filed for you, this time in F3 category.

What if Suren does not tell NVC that he is married now...and his parents upgrades the case from greencard to Citizenship.

Once the upgrade is completed with NVC , then Suren informs NVC that he is married.. and request NVC to change his category from F2B to F3 ( as he is now married)

I would like to know as i m in a similar situation.

Please advise

The US Embassy has a way of finding out about marriages even if unregistered. It will be fraud and you can be banned for life from entering the US. Just file a new petition ASAP.
