  • American bringing husband to NYC

1)-Hi I am an American, married to a Turkish man for about 3 months. I want to bring my husband here but I was reading it was better to apply in turkey than in NYC. Can someone who has experience in this matter guide me.

2)-I read I could apply for the green card (I-i30) then bring him here with a K-3 Visa. it is worthy to apply for the K-3 VISA to make the time more short.

3)-We don't have any papers no accounts or anything on those line to show our bona fide besides pictures of our wedding and copies of my trip to turkey.

4)-can he ask in turkey for an affidavits from his friends

    1. Only if you want to do a DCF (Direct Consular Filing)--check residency requirements of US Embassy Ankara
    2. K-3 requires I-130 and I-129F--and doesn't necessarily cut time against CR-1
    3. You really need to have a certificate of marriage (or if you did nikah, a paper attesting it from ordained clergy)
    4. If one of them is ordained clergy, that could work
