My wife recently became a US Citizen and we would like to petition for me. I visit once or twice a year and have a B1/B2 visa valid until 2012.
My questions
1. If we petition now, with me outside the US, does that invalidate my visa? Does it mean I cannot enter the USA until I get the GC?
2. I have been told that the time will be shorter (about 3 months) if we petition while I am in the USA. But if I am outside, it could be about a year. Is that the case?
