  • Switching from "Counselor Processing" to "Adjustment of Status"

I'd appreciate information related to these queries:

Has anyone filed I-130 form (for parents residing abroad) by choosing "Counselor Processing" at the time of filing the petition (filling I-130) AND switching to "Adjustment of status" later on (once they are here in US)? Any good/bad experiences?

I've heard that all that need to be done (to switch to "Adjustment of Status") is to file I-485 with USCIS. Is this accurate and complete information?

Lastly, is there a minimum/maximum time limit between approval of petition (I-130 is approved) and filing the papers for next step?

Actually, the form to switch from Consular to I-485 (or vice-versa, as I did in 1999) is I-824
