Can wife STOP working after EAD?

My wife is currently on a H1-B visa. I "should" get my US citizenship soon, after
which I plan to apply for my wife's green card (thru immediate relative).

Can my wife stop working (and still maintain legal status in the US) after she gets her EAD card?

If not, when can she officially stop working while still maintainging legal status. Obviously, after she gets the conditional GC, she can do this.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Your wife should follow the terms of her H1B visa to maintain legal status.
Why don't you file a petition for her now instead of waiting til you get the citizenship? The petition can be upgraded from F2 to immediate relative without filing a new petition.
