Hi,
I am a US Citizen getting ready to marry a Canadian on August 14th, 2011. We are going to pursue the Family Based GC. I contacted the USCIS helpline twice and was told that this was the best way, and that going this route would allow my fiance (soon to be spouse
) to live in the US while her forms are processed.
We plan to file our forms, then head to Florida on our honeymoon. The only issue is that I'm new to all of this, and the legalities of our US government scare the spit outta me! Is there anywhere that provides cheap or even free advice? We're poor.
Can anyone give me a break-down of what needs to happen and when? What forms do I need to file first, etc...?
Also, I have been a college student for the past few years and am only just moving out on my own once we're married, so my income isn't even 125% of poverty level - so can I use my parents income to supplement my income?
