  • F1 to F3, interview cancelled, what now?

My husband (Canadian) applied for F1 through his father (US citizen) years ago. Shortly after our marriage, my husband received a note about his green card interview, so he informed the case officer about his changed status - interview got cancelled, we´re submitting marriage certificate. What is the procedure now, and how long can it take until the next interview? Thanks!

What's your husband's PD and from what country is he? The VB will be different now that he has changed category.

He´s Canadian, his PD is 30/03/2001.

To make it more fun, we are currently living/working in Taiwan. So when he submitted our marriage certificate (made in Taiwan) to the Montréal office last week, he was advised to ask the Taiwan branch of the immigration office to transfer his files to Taiwan.

Now he´s worried that it will take ages.

Any thoughts/advice will be much appreciated.

It shouldn't take long although you have to wait for some time. Just follow the advice of the Montreal office. Then follow-up in a week's time. His PD was current a few months back so he should get another interview sked after submitting the requirements. Good luck
