Hey guys,
Points to be noted:
I am on H1-b and working currently
I am married to a US citizen
My green card was applied a week ago - no EAD.
So the situation is that my current employer paid for my "Marriage based Green card" filing. When I say 'paid' I mean they paid for I-130 and 485 applications (so around $2,000 in total). My company's current lawyer filed my paperwork last week and it's easily going to take 2 months to get the EAD (hoping everything goes fine and no RFE's).
Now under these circumstances, can I switch my employer? What might/can happen if I do? Can they(my current company) withdraw my application?
I didn't sign any contract or any document with my current employer. My new employer is ready to do my H1-b transfer. Now if I go forward with the transfer process, will it in future impact my green card process?
Should I even be considering taking an offer from another company at this time or wait for my EAD first?
Suggestions/Comments?
Thanks in advance
