Green card for my mother in law

am a US citizen and my vwife is GC holder, and she wanted to bring her mother who is alone in Hyderbad in her relative place, can we apply green card for her or there is some other visa where she can stay here for 5yrs or so, any link to the USICS websites, need help.

A mother-in-law is not qualified to be petitioned in any family-based category. But you can petition her in an employment-based category if you have a business and she is qualified to be your worker.

Your mother-in-law can come and visit for now, but don't let her overstay! To get immigration benefits, your wife has to become US Citizen and ,then she can apply for her mom as immediate relative which means mom does not have to wait for visa, she will get immediately! Good luck.

actually my m-i-l visited us when my father in law was alive, she have 10 yrs visa, but she couldnt stay long more then 6 months, so my wife wanted to apply green card for her, cos all her siblings are in different state as she got 2 bro, even her mother wanted to stay wid her daughter. Anyway we planned to return to India in few yrs.
Atelast they visited us once but my parents couldnt visit us yet...
