I-130 - urgent question (Plz help)

Hello All,
Please help... I have filed I-130 for my relative and there is a requirement to submit police certifcates from EACH city my relative had lived since age 16.

But on US mumbai consulate's site, it says that 2 doucments are needed - a police certificate from the passport office (from where passport was issued) AND police certicate from the current city of residence is also required (if passport was issued more than 6 monthas ago). If passport was issued within the last 6 months, then only the police certificate from the passport office is required.

Can someone please tell me what is the correct requirement?

First of all you dont required to submit police clearance certificate at this stage its you are still in the initial stage you required to submit it when your case is approved and they ask you to submit DS-240 form with documents. In DS-230 form they ask your relative where they have lived since the age of 16 years and they have to submit all the police clearance certificate they have spend more then 6 months its not difficult as you are assuming at this stage just go to the required police station and do the formality you get the police clearance certificate even some people here i have read had collect from different country one should not required one for his stay in US other wise it is required and my father-in-law has submitted it and they particularly ask for that and he is present in US.

you had not mention what category you are applying for them but i assum that may in F3 or F4 category this type of category takes approximately 10 years and in between many steps to finish here you are talking about requirement of last step and with I-130 you dont required that just proof of your relation and cheque of fees.... i hope this may clear your dought
