Hi all,
I have a couple of questions about my birth certificate which needs to be submitted in order to file my GC. I have a birth certificate issued a couple of years ago. My name is correct in the BC. However, my mother's first name is spelled incorrectly in it. Also, there is an extra "space" in my father's first name.
I would be grateful if anyone could answer my below queries:
1. My father has passed away, so who should be the deponent (sign) the affidavit(s) for correct spelling of my mother's first name?
2. Who should submit the affidavit(s) for my father's first name (pointing out the extra space)?
3. How much should be the value of the stamp paper for the affidavits?
4. Do the affidavits need to be created/issued at my place of birth? or any city in India is fine?
5. Since my BC was issued much later than I was born (and not within few days of my birth), do I need any affidavit to prove this as well?
6. Any other supporting documents/affidavits to prove my birth or the correct spellings of my parents' names?
Thanks a lot in advance! Looking forward to all your replies..
