I have filed a concurrent I-130, I-485 application for my mother. I have submitted I-864EZ along with the application. The checks for I-130 and I-485 were cashed. I received acknowledgement letters for both I-130 and I-485. A single paper each with a receipt number and Alien Number.
But there was another letter that returned the check for the review fee(of $88) that I submitted along with I-864EZ.
The NOA(I-797c) included my check of ($88.00) and said "You submitted an extra remittance that is not required to process the application. There is no additional action by you is required at this time".
I thought I understood this part.
But below the NOA, there is green sheet that said your application is rejected based on the reasons indicated in I-797 reject notice. Now I am confused. What did they reject? the check? or I-864EZ? or the entire application. If they rejected just the check, why would they say your application is rejected?
please help.
