I-130 approved..need help

my husband is permanent resident and he applied for my greencard in sep 2010. I am in usa from 2004 first on F1 visa nd then H1b from 2007. my petition is approved but i m waiting for priority dates to get current so that i can apply for adjustment of status. I can only have 6 years of h1b so my question is once PD becomes current how long i need to my on my status? when can i get the work permit??

Until the priority date is current, you will have to maintain the legal immigration status on your own.

You can apply for work permit concurrently or after you apply for adjustment of status.
