  • Support of Affidavit Below Poverty Line!

I'm currently living with my wife step son and our baby and trying to get green card, Was going to have my wife sponsor me and go through the process in Feb 2012.

Well we worked out that she won't make enough cash this year to sponsor me ($3500) short of the poverty line. Which would mean we need to have $10050 in savings, assets etc... We don't have any assets or savings though and we can't find anyone to co sponsor us.

We thought about getting a large loan and keeping it in the bank but not sure if this would be wise plus don't think we could even borrow that much. I thought about trying to get immigration through work but unsure if I would be able to find a job that would do this.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what we can do? I can't work over here yet and I really want to get my green card next year.

No ways around that my friend. You will have to either take a loan as you said and show that as an inheritance or something like that. But even that loan amount you will have to keep it in your bank account for say 6-8 months to show them that it is really yours.

Why dont your wife approach a reputable immigration lawyer to get some idea or pointers round that here in US. That is also another idea.

    Good luck.
