  • Consulate Appointment.

    Hi,
My name is Jose and I am writing regarding my dad's upcoming appointment at the end of this current month. Im going to try to briefly explain his situation before the question. So, Both of my parents were maried since i was born 1987 so in 1989 or 1990 when i was just 2, my dad came to the United states ilegally, by plane, but with **** papers (HUGE mistake!) and so he spent a week in jail until he got sent back to santo Domingo, DO (where we're originally from). so years passed and my grandmother who was living here in USA and held a green card at that time petitioned my mother at around 1996 and so my parents divorced (for paperwork purposes only) so my mom could get petitioned, and it wasn't until 2006 that we (My mom, my sister, and I) got our appointment noticed and subsequently got our visa. after we came to live to USA, my mom when back in 2008 and remarried my dad and petitioned him, and now he got his appointment notice for end of this month. finally, my question is,
    1. Will my dad have to go through some sort of unsual treatment for his case since he was previously arrested here when he entered ilegally? (22 years ago)
he got his fingerprints taken and all that.
    2. is there anything that he must do before the appointment to avoid rescheduling?

    thanks everybody !!!

I doubt he would have any problems. Just in case, call a few attorneys who offer free consultation so you may get an idea.
