how to view update on case after submitting documents

I submitted my i485, i765, i130 and also done with my biometrics this week.
I have seen people writting about "case touched", "case transfered" and other terminologies regarding case updates but i have no idea what they are talking about.
Is there any way i can see each update for my case. ALTHOUGH, i have a portfolio on USCIS website but it doesnt shows anything there.
Any help will be appreciated.

Once you get an application number, starting with three letter, go to the USCIS website and choose "Case Status", and you will be able to see your case progress.
