Hi,
My roommates were married earlier this year (last march?) and the female roommate is applying for a Green Card. She overstayed her work & student visa (expired a year ago) and has been in the country for about 4 years total. Her lawyer recently informed her that they both should move out and have their own place in order to make their marriage look better, even though they are legitimately in love with one another. They feel like they have to move out even though they would prefer not to.
I guess my questions are as follows:
Is there any precedent for denying or delaying citizenship status based on who you live with?
Would living with friends their age (28-30) impact the immigration authorities' decision to grant or delay her obtaining a Green Card?
Thanks in advance for any response / advice
