Tourist visa expiring before I-130,I-485 approved

Hi

I am a US citizen and I had filed I-130 and I-485 for my mother when she came to the US on a tourist visa. Both applications are still pending but her tourist visa is expiring on 11/12/11. What should we do - should she go back or continue residing in US even if her stay exceeds the allowed 6 month validity period (for a tourist visa)?

Hello there, she won't have any problem if her I-94 expires but she cannot leave the country until she gets her GC ! May I ask you how long after her arrival on the US did you apply for her? My son is about to apply for me but I'm not in the US.
