Married US Citizen and went back to my home country to finish school

I married US Citizen and had to go back to my home country to finish my college. I need help in how to apply for my green card from my home country? Can I ask for fiance visa or tourist visa and apply for my green card from USA? Or I should start the whole process from my home country? And how long it usually takes to get green card when you apply from outside of USA?
