  • Dad filing a new petition for me, what will happen to my previous LPR status?

So I am a LPR before but I voided it since I overstayed abroad, and now my Dad is going to petition me all over again under the IR2 category. I'm wondering what will happen to my previous status. Also, the I-130 form asks for a social security number for me, te beneficiary, can my dad put my previous SsN?

Are you single and a minor (under 21 yrs old) ? You can use your old SSN.

You're welcome. If your dad is a US citizen and he petitions you, it won't take long for you to have your GC coz you are an immediate relative (no quota). The previous GC has been cancelled.

Can I ask one or two more questions? Hehee. The form also asks for my Alien Registration Number which I have on my previous GC, can my Dad put that on the form? Also can my Dad also not put my previous SSn on the form and just write N/A? Thanks again

He will need to input your previous Alien #. Basically when you get your new greencard, it will still have your old alien number. Note the USCIS doesnt create separate files for the same individual in their systems. Thats the whole purpose of mentioning the old alien reg number in the i130

            Regards

Sir, can I ask two more questions please? What exactly is the file date when my dad petitions for me under the IR-2 visa category? Is it the NOA1 I am seein on visa timelines? Also, is it possible I will age out under the IR-2 application? Thanks you!
