the interviewer gave me My passport back and 221(g) letter :(

hello Everyone , I went to my interview On December .20th.2011 and The interviewer started asking me about my previous marriage . since I was in usa before and married to another girl but we got divorced but before even applying on the immigration . so the interviewer did not ask me anything about my new current wife which we are deeply in love . and she kept asking me about the previous marriage . without even asking me to show the albums of pictures I took with me or the visits of my current wife to Egypt or anything . and she said " your case has alot of problems , we will contact you , we are done for today " then she gave me my passport and a paper says 221(g) Fraud prevention unit for investigation ..

I was so sad and I called my wife when I went back home and she cried . we contacted out Immigration lawyer . and he sent them a letter and email . so did my wife .! and they answered and said that My case was not Refused but it's undergoing necessary Administrative process in Their office and my case was not sent back to the USCIS . once they are done with the AP they will contact me .

I have a few Questions please :

1- Why she gave me my passport back ?
2- why in the 221(g) it says it's going under fraud investigation then they said to my lawyer it's in their office in cairo ?
3- how long should I expect them to contact me ?
4- what is the worse can happen ? and should I contact the Congresswoman in my wife's city ??
