Anyone use assets for affidavit of support???

I am the USC and my wife is the benefit. our interview is scheduled next week.
I was laid off from company before Thanksgiving. I had been there 4.5 years.

I could have got my sister in law to co-sponsor but didnt want to drag her through this. she has a demanding job, 3 kids, and my pain in **** brother to deal with.

The rules for the affidavit say I can use the cash value of assets in my case since its my wife it needs to be 3 x the poverty guideline.

with 0 current income but using cash value of assets im over the required limit by a healthy $25,000.
i am also allowed to include assets of my wife which would add alot more.

Has anyone done this? I want to hear what they said or how the experience went?

you basically need to show you can support your wife so she doesnt end up on welfare.
my tax records show I have made double the required amount for the last 10 years, plus i have a healty does of assets so im not worried. im just in between jobs currently but will be back to work in a few months.
