Father's I-485 RFE - Birth Certificate needed - Please Help!!

Hi All,
I applied for I-130 and I-485 for my father. We received 'Request for Initial Evidence' from USCIS asking us to submit his birth certificate. While submitting the application for I-485, I had submitted the non-availability certificate for his birth and his 10th standard marks card showing his date of birth. Since he is the oldest in the family as of now, we could not get any affidavits of birth from any close relatives older than him. Now my question is how do we respond to the RFE ?. We don't have his birth certificate or any older relative to give an affidavit. What other documents are acceptable? Please share your experiences.

Have you replied for RFE?

I am sort of stuck in the same place, only thing I found this out when we went for the Interview. The Officer was saying that she should have two affidavits stating name, date of birth, father's name and mother's name. I had one affidavit but she was not happy with it..

Birth Certificate can be issued on the basis of entries in Indian passport. This service is offered by Indian consulate.
or if you dad is in India, you can approach the passport office.

Anjali, If you are not sure, don't give wrong advice. Birth certificates issued by the consulate, passport office etc. are NOT accepted.
