I am a USC applied for my dad's GC. He is 71 years old and I had provided non availability certificate and one affidavit when I had filed his 485. We were called for interview and at the interview the officer said she wanted two affidavits from relatives in case of non availability. She said she will be contacting us through mail and I have 87 days from then on to reply.
In the meanwhile, I was able to get the affidavit from India and have sent the same to the District Office. They have taken away the I-94 and we're sort of stuck.
Has any body been through this before? How long will it take for the Supervisor to review the case? I spoke to the 1800 number and they did not have any info other than what has been listed in the web site. Is there any other number I can reach?
If my dad has to travel to India now, what are his options? Can we switch it over to CP? Do Chennai consulate accept CP now? What are the forms that he needs to submit if it is Consular Processing? How long will it take?
Any help would be appreciated!!!
