Hello. Here's my situation:
I'm a U.S. Citizen residing in Kenya with my Kenyan husband and infant daughter (born here, has a US passport/CRBA certificate). My I-130 petition was approved in early February and now we are preparing for his interview at the USCIS office in Nairobi. I have a question regarding the I-864. We have a joint sponsor in Atlanta who meets all of the qualifications but now my question is WHETHER I NEED TO FILL OUT THE I-864 ALSO, AS THE ORIGINAL PETITIONER. I have been living in kenya since early 2008 volunteering as a nurse initially and am a stay-at-home mom currently. I have not needed to fill U.S. taxes since 2007 and have very few assets to speak of. Will this impact the Embassy's decision to approve a CR-1 visa for my husband? Or is it sufficient to just have the joint sponsor's Affidavit of Support (I-864)
