Administrative Processing

Hello To All&& To Administrator,

I have attended my interview on 27th Of Feb and i was handed by two 221(g) letters..
In 1st letter they asked me for the PCC from regional passport office and In 2nd letter they asked to submit documents..
Which i Submitted to our near VFS office on 4th Of April and also the PCC.
And today i Got my Passport Back With a Letter Saying..
"Kindly bear with us your case has been undergoes Mandatory Administrative processing and we will try to contact you as soon as process is completed..
My 1st Question is:
1)How Will they Contact me like Through Email or Through Phone Which i gave them in the Office.
2)What Is Administrative Processing ?
3)What Will Happen in This Processing?
4)How Long Will it take?
5)if you dont know about time you must Know Average Timing in this process
They gave me a slip having phone number and website..
and said check your status from it..
and i dont know how to?

It is Immigrant Visa Application on Family Based..

1. They will send you a letter to submit the passport. You should also check the status every month via email.

2. Admin Processing can be anything from verifying a document to NAME CHECK with FBI.

3. You just have to wait calmly. Embassy staff will do the check.

4. It could take from one month to few months.

My friend had gone through Admin processing at New Delhi and took 120 Day in his case (family based CR1)
from the day he submitted the documents to embassy.

My suggestion is just relax for few months.

Here is my questions:
1. What is family preference category.
2. Did you take the oath and sign the DS-230 II at the embassy.

If you have signed the DS-230-II then it seems like it is the NAME CHECK WITH FBI and it takes 120 Days on average.

Thanks for suggestions sir..
My case category is "Child of citizen of US" and its IR2..
and yeah I took oath there and signed on the paper after calling my name..


How can I check I mean they hve given me website but didn't tell how to check status..

For visa inquiries, E-mail: [email protected]

Send an email to above email address requesting status of you petition. Wait for four weeks before you ask for status update.

Include your name, petitioner's name and NVC/ USCIS Case Number in the email.

Will they Come To my Village and investigating on me if i have any criminal record or birth date..??

Since Consular officer has already asked you to sign the DS-230 II, He has no objection with the facts on the petition, So most likely the admin processing is about FBI Name check. If there is nothing suspicious about your case then you don't have to worry about anything Just Relax. For Criminal record, they already have you PCC. For Birth Record, They already have copy of your birth certificate (hopefully it is genuine).

They only visit your village if they have doubt that you have misrepresented on the petition (hopefully you have not).

I mean you are very helpful so am exceeding my questions ..

1. Is petitioner-beneficiary (in your case, mother-son or father-son) relation real.
2. Since it is IR2, Are you truthful about your age.

If it is the NAME CHECK, Embassy will get a clearance against YOUR NAME from FBI .

There's nothing like that..
It's just am applied by my step mom who is a citizen of US and my dad has a green card..
And about my age its well true..

Wondering how will they check about my name from FBI..I.Never been to USA

If you name matches with a similar name in the FBI/Dos Database, Visa officer has to get a clearance from FBI that you are not the same person who is blacklisted.

I was searching on Name Check by FBI and looking for stats and am not getting latest stats of Name Check.its showings me of 2008 ..
