My wife is a permanent resident, her unmarried son of 23 years old is "visiting" us in the US. We want to help him to become a permanent resident as well. I'm familiar with the I-130 process...however it takes years!!!! He has aspergers syndrome. Is there any other way to help him to become a permanent resident with respect to the fact that he is not self reliant and will live with us at home for the rest of his life?

*EB-5 ( investor immigration) can work . If you invest $500k on his behalf.
*If that is not possible,
Does he have a 10 yr B1/B2?
You can make it easier by filing an I -130 now without delay. That way , he will at least be in the line. Current backlog for F2b ( if you are not from mexcio or phillipines), is roughly 8 years . IF he has a 10 year multiple entry visitor visa, he can stay 6 months with you and 6 in his origin country, till his visa number arrives.
*You can also enrol him in a special needs student program and change status from visitor to student. But that will be couple of years only.
Talk to a good immigration lawyer about this option.
