My wife is a green card holder and at present in usa. For maintaining a green card she stays for the minimum period required of stay in us.
This has been going on for last 4 years. But last time when she was returing to us the immigration officer notice this pattern of stay in us. and commented informally that she was taking advantage of the law.
Now at present she has stayed in us for 5 months and she will be visiting india. so how long can she stay without jeoparding the validity of green card and without breaking any laws? We also have a us born child of 15months.
