Grandfather was a US Airforce Officer

Hi,

My Grandfather was an Airforce Officer in WWII and a US citizen but never lived in the US, though his Father did. My Uncle became a US citizen through his citizenship but my Father never did.

I haven't been able to find any specific information on this but do any of you know whether or not I, as a dual citizen (NZ/British) could become a US citizen with these family ties?

No you cannot acquire US citizenship through these family ties because your grandfather did not live in the US, and if you're 18 yrs old or above, absolutely not.

Since your father is obviously over 18 years old he cannot acquire citizenship through his grandfather. I'm sorry

That's too bad. Hey thank you for helping with my questions. One final, desperate, question - if you have a spare moment?

Is it possible for my father to get US citizenship on the grounds that his father was a citizen and USAF officer in WWII and also that my father's brother was a US citizen based on these grounds and that brother's son is also a US citizen? Grasping at straws here but I've read also that the rules vary between era's ('32 to '41 I think then '41 was a different story through till '55) - do you have any ideas or loose information you can give me?

btw I'm in my 20's and want to move to the US to pursue my musical career, Dad's 65...
