Police clearance at new delhi embassy

I HAVE FILED 1-130 for my wife. petition approved in march,2012
affidavit of support/immigrant visa fees paid.
i have sent NVC ds 230 ( part 1 and 2) along with
1) original marriage certificate and photocopy
2) original birth certificate with photocopy
3) copy of my wife passport biographic page
4) 2 photographs of my wife

i had sent above documents 2 weeks ago.

only thing missing is police clearance (PCC) from jalandhar,punjab passport office. we are in process of obtaining PCC.
my questions are ?
1) how many days it takes before NVC schedules interview or send checklist ?
2) is it possible to bring PCC at time of interview at new delhi embassy?

1. I have seen NVC send check list letter as early as within 10 working Day via email. Estimated interview time after NVC receives all the documents is 45-60 days.

2. You may call NVC and ask them if your wife could bring PCC at the time of interview. My sister needed custody document and NVC completed her case(after sending checklist letter Twice) without the doc and let her bring at the time of the interview. Her case was also at new delhi embassy.

i read if NVC does not receive document after requesting twice, they send it to new delhi embassy even if case is not complete or it has errors,


another question,

we should get PCC from jalandhar in next 1-2 days. should i just send PCC to NVC or wait for checklist.

You can just mail PCC without checklist letter, make sure you use cover page. Also write a short note. And follow up with phone call.

called NVC yesterday. they said they received everything except PCC.

and they need it . i asked if we caould bring at interview they said nNO ..

i guess i have to send PCC once we get it from jalandhar..
