  • how long need i wait for my green card

last may 30, 2012 my husband (a US citizen) and i had an interview with the immigration officer for our filed I-485. everything went fine after a series of questions and we were told that our application is approved. the IO handed us a paper with his signature, date of approval, etc... he told us to wait for my green card in the mail in 3 to 4 weeks time.

while waiting for my gc, i often check my case status in uscis.gov website and noticed that the status hasn't changed and it still is in the testing and interview step...

last july 3, 2012 i decided to call the CSC to inquire why i haven't received my green card yet. the CSC representative then made a service request regrading my inquiry and told me that they will forward my inquiry to the unit holding my case. she also told me to wait for a mail from them for 15 days. yesterday was the the 16th day of my waiting for said mail but didn't get any so i called CSC again. the CSC representative told me that they mailed me a letter last july 14, 2012 and she told that the letter was saying that my case is still in process and i should contact them again if i didn't get any update in six months. i don't understand why it should be in that status when my application was already approved and i was even advised by the Immigration Officer who interviewed me to just wait for green card in 3 to 4 weeks time... it's been 7 weeks now and i haven't received it yet...

what need i do??? any help, please?
