Time gap between I-140 Approval and Filing of I-485

Can anyone advise - provided my PD is current how long after my I-140 is approved can i file my I-485? Do i have to file immediately or i can wait for some time?

The reason i am asking is i wouldnt be married until my I-140 is approved. Once approved - can i go back to my home country , get married and come back and apply for AOS/I-485 along with my spouse?

Please advise.

you can file I-485 once ur priority date becomes current

Hi ,

Once your I-140 is approved you will get a Priority Date.
Based on the category EB2/EB1 check the calender from USCIS when it will become current.
Then you can file for I-485 chane of status.
