Hi,
I have a unique case. I was working with an employer who had initiated my green card process. My PERM was approved but then I was laid off. Since its a big company they haven't updated their law firm of the layoffs. The law firm has in the mean time prepared a draft I140 form which they are asking to sign and send. I was laid off 5 months ago and have been working with a new company since then.
Would it be wrong if I sign the I140 application and let the law firm continue with the process. If that works, I can get my priority date locked.
Is this even possible/feasible/legal?
