While I haven't heard back in relation to my EB-3 PERM that was filed in December 2015, I'm trying to think ahead and make the necessary arrangements to file an I-140. This includes gathering documentary evidence from previous employers.
Now, the problem I have is that I cannot get in touch with one of my previous employers, with whom I had had to do an internship to stay in status during the post-completion OPT for a good six months before I found an actual job. It was a remote internship - I was in Florida and the company was situated in California - and hence, my only point of contact was my manager and no other co-workers. Now that I cannot get in touch with my manager, what steps can I take to have acceptable documentary evidence from this particular employer without having an RFE during the I-140 stage ?
My Immigration Attorney tells me that a letter from the university, that the experience was acquired as a part of coursework, can be used as a substitute for this particular employer, but I'm not so sure. Has anyone else had this problem and successfully had their I-140 approved ?
