Hi Friends,
I have a question about changing jobs after the I-140 is approved.
My 140 is approved recently (just a week ago) and now I got an opportunity to become a manager to my own group. Job responsibilities will change completely as it is a manager role and not a technical one anymore. Everything was done and my promotion was held by the HR department showing the reason that the Green Card process will have to be started from the beginning because of this role change. I have only 5 months left on my 6 year H1B and re starting the whole process and getting another 140 is not possible.
Its frustrating that I lost the opportunity to advance in my career. I am having hard time believing what my HR says. If I ask my attorney about this question, she will copy it to my HR and reply. So I don't want to do that which might dent my relationship with the HR Manager.
Please help if any one has this experience.
Thanks
Venkat.
