confused: whats after the I-140 approval?

Hello,

I received an approval for I-140 today. I am confused about the next steps that go along with this approval. My attorney says the approval will be sent to NVC for further actions. I have applied for an immigration visa. Does anyone in this group have any experience similar to this? Please advice.

I am at the same point as you are. I was notified last week of I-140 approval. I have done some research and this is what I found:


USCIS Notifies NVC, which will create a case number for you
NVC will notify you (or your lawyer) when they have received it
You pay the immigrant visa (IV) fees
Fill out and submit DS-260 form along all supporting documentation
NVC will schedule an appointment at U.S. Embassy
You must get medical exams before your appointment
On the interview, you'll be given an envelope that you must surrender to the Immigration officer at your port of entry.
