Difference of Last Name

Hi Guru’s and Experts,

I am of Indian Origin and have a big name.

My last name on my passport and GC application (I-140 & Labor form) do not match and got messed up.

However, all my previous H1 petitions go by my passport name.

1. Can this be an issue? If yes, during which stage?

2. Shall I change my name in the passport as per the GC applications? Will this help. Please advice.

3. In which stage does background verification is done. Will this difference of name effect my background processing?


Note : My I140 is with CIS.
