B.Tech Degree completion date

Hi,
I have completed by B.Tech from Nagarjuna University in May 1993. But I took Original Degree (OD) in August 1996. Hence at the bottom of the OD it mentioned that date when I took the certificate.

I have all marksheets stating that I have completed in May 1993 itself.

I would like to know whether USCIS will consider from May 1993 or from Aug 1996.

Please advise if any one faced this situation.

Let me know can I get any letter from University will help.
