Hello,
I have my Labor and I-140 approved. My company will not give me a copy of the approved petition -- and will only give it to me in the event of a layoff. I am looking to see if I can change jobs. Do I need a copy of the approved I-140 to prove my priority date to a new employer? Or would USCIS be able to trace that anyway?
Basically, the cause of my concern is if I go to a new employer, will I have to get back in the queue for a new priority date , or will my priority date remain the same -- given that I already have my I-140 approved but cannot secure a copy of it due to my company policy.
Any advice from someone who has gone through similar scenario is highly appreciated.
thanks,
-Arun
