I-290B Question

I was wondering if any one of you have an experience, or heard about
I-290B. I filed this form about a month ago and I haven't heard anything yet. I called my attorney's office and lady told me that I should just wait. She said that we don't even get the receipt notice or any other form that they have received it. Is it true? Don't they normally send out the receipt notice for any documents? Please reply me back if anyone know about this. Thank you so much in advance
