When do I need to join my employer who is processing my GC?

have a consulting ABC who has applied for I-140 (pending approval) using pre-approved labour, however I haven't yet started working for this company.

I am currently working for another reputed XYZ company ( I have completed around 2.5 years on H1B).

My questions are
1)
At which stage of green card processing it will must for me to join ABC company which is processing my green card I-140?
2)
will it create any problem in my GC processing later if I am not currently working for company which is doing my green card processing?
3)
My labour is for a programmer position, however I am currently holding a managerial position with another company XYZ. Do you any issue at later state when I join back company ABC which is processing my GC as a programmer ?

Anytime ...

... either now or after you get the GC.

The process says that this employer is ready to hire you as a permanent employee and hence the employer has filed your permanent residency.

However, in real life, it's best to join as soon as you can.

I am still working with my current employer ( Say Employer company name is ABC who had applied my GC. This is progress on my Green Card :

I have checked about I-140 application status thru USCIS website & its saying I-140 had been approved on Feb-15-2008 ( See below details from USCIS “On February 15, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.” ), but I did not received confirmation letter from USCIS. I guess, my employer ( ABC Company) might have received that confirmation letter. I don’t want to check with him about that letter, because he might think I am planning for leaving company. What do you suggest on this one …

Last year, I have got my EAD/AP also while my GC was in progress.

Now, my question is that ..Is that OK if I change the current employer ( ABC ) to another company ( say XYZ Company ) or I have to work with current company which was “ABC” atleast 6 months since I-140 approved date. ????. Please advise me.
