I140 and marriage

Hi,

My friend had a question the other day about his marriage and GC. This is his situation.

1) Labour approved - PD Oct 07- EB2 category
2) I140 also approved.

He wants to know whether he can get married after getting I485 approved (PD current) or should be get married before his PD becomes current?

He can get married at anytime but for him to bring his wife to US if overseas, he needs to marry before his I485 will be approved.

If GC is approved, he can no longer bring the person to US on a dependent visa and should either marry someone already in US or his future wife wait for a long time (5 yrs or more) in the home country after marriage.

If the PD is current, then wife can turn in the application for the 485 as dependent gets the same PD as the primary.
